“Making a Murderer” has become a cultural phenomena that causes us all to rethink just how safe we are. Could this happen to us?

While the story is extraordinary, the odds are long and against such a thing from happening to most of us.

However, there are lessons for EMS providers to take away and employ on every call, every day.

Stop and think that every battery, assault, stabbing, shooting, and cardiac arrest call is an actual or potential crime scene. Once you arrive, no matter what you do (or don’t do), you are now part of the story, part of the investigation, part of the case.
